Reasons and Filters for Spurious Behaviors

چکیده
Current methods in qualitative physics (QP) sometimes predict behaviors of physical systems that do not correspond to any real-valued solution . The existence of spurious solutions and their origins have been analyzed for the treatment of differential equations [Kuipers 86], [Schmid 88] as well as of simple equations [Struss 87], [Struss 88a] . For the first case, the reason for the prediction of spurious behaviors is the local nature of the criteria for determining state changes . This paper attempts a continuation and a refinement of this analysis and exploits results from the treatment of differential equations by interval mathematics and the qualitative theory of dynamic systems. The problem is : how can we determine the possible continuations of a qualitative behavior taking into account its complete history? Such global criteria for the elimination of spurious behaviors are developed for 2nd order differential equations.

Spurious Response Suppression in Waveguide Filters using E-Shaped Chiral Resonators
In this paper, chiral E-shaped resonators are used in a waveguide. Direction of EM wave and position of resonators for effective excitation is studied and various resonances of E-shaped resonators are determined. As a consequence an analytical equivalent circuit model is proposed. Finally, an array of these resonators is used to realize a wide reject band. The resulted band stop filter performa...
متن کاملSpurious Responses Suppression of Parallel Coupled-Lines Microstrip Bandpass Filters: Comparison and Improvements of Planar Approaches
In this paper, three methods to reject the first spurious harmonic in parallel-coupled microstrip filters are investigated. The authors proposed an extension of these approaches to also suppress the second unwanted passbands while keeping the initial passband practically unchanged. Then, two of these techniques are combined to achieve a wider upper stopband. Indeed, the sinusoidal perturbation ...

The method of least squares (MLS) is used to develop an algorithm for the optimum design of any type of filter under any design specifications for the realization of lowpass, bandpass, highpass and bandstop characteristics. The proposed filter design method can be used for any general filter network topology, which provides high flexibility for the selection of circuit configurations suitable f...
متن کاملDistributed Filtering for Time-Delayed Deployment to Multiple Sites
We address the synthesis of distributed control policies for a homogeneous robot ensemble assigned to monitor multiple locations. Our approach uses an appropriate macroscopic description of the ensemble dynamics to first identify spurious behaviors exhibited by the ensemble as a result of robot-robot interactions that arise from operating within a shared environment. This macroscopic analysis i...
متن کاملSpurious Suppression Effect by Transmit Bandpass Filters with HTS Dual-Mode Resonators for 5 GHz Band
We report on the spurious suppression effect in lowmicrowave power transmitters by high temperature superconducting (HTS) bandpass filters (BPFs) which are promising for devices requiring BPFs with high-frequency selectivity. Some of the major issues on the power BPFs with HTS planar circuits for wireless communication applications are reviewed. As a case study for the HTS filter and its spurio...
